About Us

ChrisMill Homes began in 2001 when Bill Gaskins and Ernie Norton partnered up to build custom homes in the South Georgia/North Florida area. In 2007-2008, the economy crashed, and the building industry took a devastating hit. ChrisMill Homes was only able to survive by the Grace of God and the great people of Florida. Loyal customers in the North Florida community referred enough business to allow ChrisMill Homes to stay afloat.

Since that time, ChrisMill Homes has been divided into two separate companies with two separate owners. Ernie Norton began ChrisMill Homes Florida in April 2019. It was important to Ernie to maintain this side of the business and work to show the immense gratitude he feels to the people of Florida.

While we still operate with many of the same basic principles, we have taken considerable action to ensure ChrisMill Homes Florida thrives in success. Our team has really enjoyed the process of “re-vamping” a long-standing company into something newsworthy. ChrisMill Homes Florida began with just two homes under construction, and with relentless effort, the right people in place, and a new eye for the custom home building business, we increased our business by 95% over 12 months with no signs of slowing down. The company, and our team, were able to reach a level of achievement we could only dream of.

ChrisMill Homes Florida now has a division, with a person appointed, for each part of the building process. Our Sales Manager leads customers through the purchase and contract phase while simultaneously creating a floor plan that complements the customer’s lifestyle and finances.

Our Draftsman and Estimator provide customized floor plans as well as detailed cost breakdowns, so Sales and the customer have a complete understanding of where their money is being spent.

Our Construction Managers are well-qualified with years of experience under their belts. They each directly oversee and monitor the jobs in their assigned territories. Customers meet and communicate regularly with their Construction Manager throughout the build of their home so that concerns can be addressed as they arise and customers remain up to date on the development.

Additionally, our Production Coordinator assists in this communication with the customers, as well as the subcontractors, so the Construction Managers stay focused and dedicated to the quality of our customers’ homes.

We have Design Specialists here to aid and guide customers in selecting the interior and exterior details of their home. The ChrisMill Homes Florida team is a family that is devoted to walking with our customers side by side in the process of building their dream while making an impact on the communities in which we are present.

We have no interest in becoming a huge corporate-run business. By honoring our customers and the communities that we serve, and performing each day with strong, faithful character, ChrisMill Homes Florida’s interest is simply to become better.

I have recently learned that building a home is quite stressful. Building with CMH made it less stressful. I felt heard and seen. Whenever there was an issue, it was rectified. Any questions asked, were answered.

We highly recommend ChrisMill Homes of Florida for your custom home build. First, let me say that I am not easily impressed; then I met the team of ChrisMill Homes of Florida. My husband and I are career military, and throughout our 20+ year careers we have owned six homes consisting of three resales and three new construction. When we decided to relocate to the rural outskirts of the city of Madison, Florida we met with several home builders. ChrisMill Homes of Florida stood out during our first meeting due to their projection of professionalism, expertise, and integrity. These traits presented themselves throughout our entire home building process, making it exciting and enjoyable. There were items that we asked for that were not standard at the time of our build and ChrisMill Homes of Florida went above and beyond to ensure that we got everything we wanted. Specifically, we asked for dedicated circuits for a garage located deep freezer and compressor, electrical panel with dedicated transfer switch and exterior plug for portable generator, dedicated circuits and switch control for outlets in the eaves for Christmas décor, a pot filler and instant hot water dispenser, trayed/vaulted dining room for wood beams and a foyer wood tray ceiling. From the signing of the contract, drawing up and approval of plans, design selections, breaking of ground, to construction and turnover of keys, Diana, Ronnie and Ernie were instrumental in ensuring a smooth and pleasurable process from start to finish.
